David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client in the heavy equipment industry to recruit for a Bilingual Branch Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Branch Manager position is responsible for the overall management of 15 staff including technicians, sales professionals and a parts department. You will be accountable for profitability of the service, parts and rental departments of the branch.
Successful leadership of the branch, resulting in growth
Responsible for the financial operations
Support the sales department by controlling expenses and ensuring a smooth workflow within the branch for sales
Plan and assign service technicians to enhance operation
Plan and assign Preventative Maintenance
Analyze and check the discounting of the rental rate
Monitor GLM expenses and parts gross profit to ensure it meets company forecasts for the year
Manage the rental repair costs and Work in Process
Check van expense and ensure maintenance of vans is completed
Monitor and schedule rental fleet maintenance
Approve service related items
Assist in the purchase and disposal of rental fleet trucks
Assist in creating a culture and a team that works together to meet client’s needs and achieve desired results
Evaluate the performance of associates, sets goals and provides formal and informal feedback on a regular basis
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum college diploma or equivalent related experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Service/Branch manager role in the Material Handling industry
Technical knowledge of material handling equipment required
Previous experience in building maintenance practices an asset
Coaching and counselling skills
Must be bilingual in French and English
An ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong problem solving, planning and project management skills
