David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a division within the Provincial Government in Edmonton, as they are looking for a previous government Administrative Assistant (ASIV) to fill a temporary contract with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Executive Director, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities, and the ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful Administrative Assistant (ASIV) must be professional, and have intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

The Role:

  • Calendar Management for Executive Director
  • Booking rooms and taking meeting minutes
  • Creating correspondences as required
  • Contacting appropriate parties regarding requests and meetings
  • Managing requests through Action Request Tracking System (ARTS)
  • Verifying invoices
  • File, photocopy, fax and scan important documents
  • Other Administrative duties as required
The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 4 years+ of experience as an Administrative Assistant - Government Experience is a must
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills with the ability to create correspondence and use templates and headers and footers
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel Skills with the ability to create spreadsheets and record and track data
  • Experience with Action Request Tracking System (ARTS)
  • A quick learner with exceptional multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
