An opening currently exists within our Mississauga branch for an Accounting & Finance Recruiter who specializes in placing accounting and finance professionals in temporary or contract roles.

What does this role entail?

  • Work with clients to identify candidate requirements: job order specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills
  • Create job postings
  • Lead the creation and execution of recruiting and interviewing plans for each open job order
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees
  • Prospect (cold call) client leads
  • Manage client accounts
  • Use social and professional networking sites and job board resume databases to identify and source candidates and research new ways of using the Internet for recruitment
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates
  • Develop a pool of pre-qualified candidates in advance of needs
  • Accept, review and enter all applications received (resumes, voicemail, referrals) in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Pre-screen all qualified candidates subject to the job description and minimum hiring criteria (English and/or French language clarity, work history, education, training, job skills, salary, etc.)
  • Thoroughly interview top candidates for cultural fit with prospective employers
  • Collect all required Background Check Authorization Forms, in order to conduct reference and background checks on applicants
  • Efficiently and effectively fill open job orders
  • Contact candidates to inform them of the status of their employment possibilities, consideration and selection, and encourage candidate referrals
What do you need to succeed?

Along with a positive, go-getter attitude and outstanding interpersonal, communication and time-management skills, you will need:

  • A post secondary diploma or degree 
  • The ability to work in a result-focused environment and ask great questions
  • Business-to-business sales experience 
  • The ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients, and offer appropriate options, solutions and resolutions 
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation and objection-handling skills
  • The ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow you to work effectively with different managers, candidate personalities, etc.
  • The ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with candidates, clients, consultants and corporate departments
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office with high attention-to-detail for data entry requirements
  • To be comfortable working towards a deadline or metric-based targets
