David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an Account Service Manager(Accounting) based in Burlington, Ontario.
This role is responsible for actively managing, retaining, and growing the business for the clients assigned.
For growth/large clients, this position works actively with the sales and solution team to identify opportunities with current clients, work with sales to enhance the scope of business done with the client, implement new business, manage all activities related to the client, and works with all functions to ensure the client receives exceptional ongoing service.
For maintenance/smaller clients, this position works with the client/client advisor to ensure that existing business is maintained, that the solution is optimized for the client situation and that the client remains satisfied.
The Ideal Candidate:
Must have CPA designation
Must have experience in Insurance taxation
Understanding the Client Organization and Insurance/Financial Structure.
Knowledge and understanding of the financial structure(s) implemented within the families/organizations including all policies and loans – the ability to explain what the client is trying to achieve, what the structure is that achieves this goal and the policies/financing arrangements that support the structure. Documentation of this at the appropriate level should exist in the client file.
End to end support of all client activities – new/additional business.
Actively manage the end to end implementation of new and/or additional business including:
Understanding the sales strategy associated with the client.
Participating in solution/model discussions.
Understanding of the structure/model being proposed/implemented (or, if the model is evolving, that the latest version/thinking is clearly understood – this is achieved by ensuring that that all model requests pertaining to the client are known, that meetings with the client are understood (phone participation if possible, or, debrief from either the President or other person who attended the meeting), attending solution meetings where applicable, follow up of meeting action items, and asking questions when not clear.
Communicating with the client/client advisors so they know who their target audience will be during the implementation.
Smooth processing of the policy applications by actively working with medical/financial underwriting team members to ensure they have the information they require to do their job such as: that the amounts of the applications are correct/maximized and that the ownership is clear. Working with the underwriters to solve issues that come up.
Proactive assessment of financing requirements and arrangement of the requisite financing.
Keeping in touch with clients throughout the year – monitor any changes in their situation that may require that their case is reviewed/modified, or that they have a new requirement for a new solution.
At least annually, doing a “plan versus actual” analysis (with the solutions team), and preparing the client material necessary for an annual review (top clients are reviewed with the President) - organize the review.
Look for opportunities to expand our relationship with the client– e.g. providing insurance solutions to other members of the family, increasing coverage, identifying where the client might benefit from applying an insurance structure to other parts of their business, identify opportunities where the current structure might be optimized. Bring these “opportunities” to the attention of the sales team.
Proactively provide clients with the information they need to pay premiums on time and ensure that the premiums are paid correctly to the insurance company so that policies do not lapse/go on an automatic payment
