David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a leading specialty trades supplier of raw materials to the footwear industry. 

They are currently seeking an ‘Account Development Manager’ to manage the business development, identify opportunities for expansion, and nurture existing customer relationships. 

The Role:

  • Account Management (Shoe care/Orthopedic/Footwear) with focus on developing and executing specific business strategies to achieve corporate sales growth objectives, and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Development of annual and long term Inside sales plans and performance development of all staff in the department
  • Achievement of  established KPIs and sales targets
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of national and local market trends, opportunities to develop new business and react to market conditions, industry trends, new technologies, legislation, opportunities, and threats
  • Designate & manage the territory to be handled by Inside Sales
  • Ensure high level of service and support to all customers, to help develop  business and   relationships.
  • Regular and effective communication within sales team  by providing support, coaching, individual develop plans, feedback & progress updates
  • Develop all key performance metrics, territory management, and sales analysis through Salesforce.com platform
  • Participation in agreed industry trade shows and events to help build the brand and market penetration.
  • Assist with new hires and effective integration into the organization 
  • Constantly audit workflow and department performance
  • Completes annual performance management & development plans and regular reviews with direct reports
  • Ensure clarity of department goals and expectations to staff at all times, with effective communication
  • Be Proactive in communicating to Management regarding potential loss of business, leads and new business.
  • Recommend management action to improve standard operation, procedures and processes
 The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills (Bilingualism is an asset) and customer service / sales management skills
  • Be proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PP) with strong computer skills, analytical and commercial ability
  • Must be highly organized, able to work independently, and have an ability to work under pressure
