We’re partnering with a well-established organization with a strong national presence to hire an Accountant for a 3-month contract (potential for extension) with an immediate start. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, full-cycle accounting work and contributing to accurate financial reporting in a collaborative team environment.
You’ll step into a hands-on role where your work supports day-to-day operations and ensures clean, reliable financials across multiple entities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Full-cycle accounting including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Perform detailed general ledger and account reconciliations
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany balances
- Support year-end audit preparation and provide required documentation
- Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and variance reviews
- Prepare and file sales tax returns (GST/HST/QST)
- Contribute to maintaining strong internal controls and consistent processes
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end
- Experience supporting audits and working in multi-entity environments
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- CPA designation or working towards is an asset
