As Director, Criminal Law Services, you will provide strategic, operational, and people leadership for all Criminal Law Services in Regina. As a key member of the senior leadership team and a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you will guide service delivery in a complex and highly impactful area of public service. This role calls for a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term strategic vision.

Key Leadership Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Service Delivery
- Shape and execute regional strategy aligned with Legal Aid Saskatchewan’s mission, vision, and priorities
- Assess demand for criminal legal services and design responsive, sustainable service delivery models
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in response to evolving legal, social, and community needs
- Partner closely with Head Office on strategic planning, operational priorities, and organizational initiative
Operational & Financial Stewardship
- Lead office budgeting, financial planning, and performance reporting
- Ensure effective and efficient use of staff and private bar resources
- Oversee approvals related to legal services, discretionary applications, and operational expenditures
- Champion data-informed decision-making, accountability, and performance management
People & Culture Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of legal professionals and staff
- Drive recruitment, succession planning, and workforce strategy
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence
- Support leadership development and ongoing professional growth across the organization
Stakeholder & Community Impact
- Serve as the primary office representative with justice partners, community agencies, and Indigenous organizations
- Build and strengthen relationships across the justice system to improve client and system outcomes
- Collaborate with provincial leadership to advance service innovation and organizational priorities
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of criminal litigation experience at both Provincial and King’s Bench levels
- 3–5 years of leadership or operational management experience leading professional teams
- Demonstrated strategic capability, including planning, change leadership, and service improvement
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, inspire, and build trusted relationships
- Sound judgment, operational insight, and a deep commitment to public service
- Proficiency with legal technologies, practice management systems, and Microsoft Office
