ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role offers full-cycle accounting responsibility within a manufacturing and project-based environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and operational leadership, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting financial decision-making. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation
- Perform full-cycle accounting including AR, AP, payroll coordination, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
- Monitor and reconcile inventory and job costing within a fabrication/manufacturing environment
- Support cash flow management, banking activities, and account reconciliations
- Track equipment, fixed assets, amortization, and capital expenditures
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with external accountants
- Ensure compliance with GST, PST, WCB, payroll remittances, and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Provide financial insights to ownership and project managers to support operational decisions
- Assist with process improvements and strengthening internal controls
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA designation or active pursuit considered an asset
- 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience within manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and job costing
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with operations
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Analytical and proactive mindset
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment
COMPENSATION
- Base salary in the range of $70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications
