Join a well-established manufacturing organization in Mississauga, ON as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, supporting accurate and timely payroll and benefits administration for a large, unionized workforce. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll professional with 3–4 years of experience who enjoys working closely with HR, collaborating with a payroll team, and continuing to grow their skill set in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a team-based role — payroll responsibilities are shared.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for a large, multi-site manufacturing workforce (hourly, salaried, and unionized employees) (400 TO 500)
  • Accurately administer payroll elements including shift premiums, overtime, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and union deductions
  • Ensure payroll compliance with provincial and federal legislation, including WSIB, EHT, ROEs, and T4s
  • Partner closely with HR on employee lifecycle changes impacting payroll (new hires, terminations, leaves, vacation accruals)
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate employee records within ADP Workforce Now
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and process documentation
  • Administer benefits and pension plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and monthly reconciliations
  • Coordinate with benefits providers on employee inquiries, premiums, and renewals
  • Support STD and LTD administration in accordance with company policies
  • Prepare employment letters and verification documents as requested
  • Occasionally travel to Oakville and Brantford sites as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • 3–4 years of Canadian payroll experience, ideally in manufacturing or a high-volume environment
  • Experience supporting union payroll
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong understanding of payroll elements common to manufacturing (shift premiums, vacation pay, overtime)
  • PCP designation (completed or in progress) is an asset
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across payroll and HR
  • Professional, discreet approach to handling confidential information
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
