ABOUT THE ROLE
This Payroll Administrator position plays a key role in processing and maintaining payroll for multiple companies within the group. The role is hands-on, detail-focused, and ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving, and supporting both employees and internal teams. You’ll collaborate closely with HR and Finance and act as a go-to resource for payroll questions, reporting, and compliance.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This Payroll Administrator position plays a key role in processing and maintaining payroll for multiple companies within the group. The role is hands-on, detail-focused, and ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving, and supporting both employees and internal teams. You’ll collaborate closely with HR and Finance and act as a go-to resource for payroll questions, reporting, and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process bi-weekly payroll for several entities, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Manage commissions, taxable benefits, RRSP deductions, union remittances, reimbursements, and other payroll components.
- Ensure all statutory remittances (WCB, EHT, source deductions, etc.) are filed correctly and on schedule.
- Maintain employee payroll files and ensure records are updated and compliant.
- Prepare ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.
- Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and collaborate with vendors or internal teams to resolve issues.
- Work closely with HR and Finance to align payroll data with personnel and accounting records.
- Provide support, coaching, and guidance to Payroll Assistants as needed.
- Assist with year-end tasks such as T4s and payroll reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Provide coverage for teammates during absences and special projects.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or actively pursuing this.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience, ideally with multi-entity payroll.
- Practical knowledge of ADP, Payworks, Eclipse, or similar payroll systems.
- Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and tax rules.
- Strong Excel and general MS Office skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline management.
- Team-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; no LMIA sponsorship available.
- Some roles may require a criminal record check.
- Salary range: $60,000–$70,000, depending on experience.
