About the Opportunity
This is a full-time, permanent Civil Foreman position offering the chance to lead high-impact civil construction projects throughout the region. The successful candidate will manage a team of skilled laborers and equipment operators on projects involving deep utilities, roadworks, and large-scale earthworks. You’ll be empowered to lead from the front, influence site safety, and ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.
About the Position
Reporting to a General Foreman or Civil Superintendent, the Civil Foreman will oversee daily field operations, manage crews, coordinate with trades, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Projects are based throughout the Lower Mainland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of civil construction crews, including laborers and equipment operators
- Interpret and implement construction drawings, plans, and specifications accurately
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control
- Conduct daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and subcontractor activities
- Track project progress, site conditions, and crew performance; report to project manager or superintendent
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site related to scheduling, quality, and safety
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment on site
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, labor hours, equipment use, and incidents
- Assist in training and mentoring crew members to improve skill levels and productivity
Must-Haves:
- Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience leading field crews (laborers and equipment operators)
- Expertise in deep utilities, roadworks, and earthworks
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings.
- Experience conducting toolbox talks, safety meetings, and daily site huddles
- Local experience in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver and surrounding areas)
Compensation
- Hourly wage: $42 – $48 per hour, plus overtime (negotiable)
- Full-time, permanent employment
