We are hiring a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join a well-established organization in Nisku (position is on site). This is a full-cycle accounting role supporting multiple companies within the group, with a strong focus on property management and real estate development accounting.
This is a 3 month contract starting ASAP with potential for extension and/or permanency in the role.
What You’ll Do
- Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities and GLs
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and oversee AP/AR
- Complete occupancy cost calculations, semi-annual reconciliations, and true-ups
- Maintain asset accounting, amortization schedules, and loan/financing tracking
- Handle property tax reporting, WCB filings, and GST returns for multiple companies
- Act as a liaison for insurance administration (building changes, tenant coverage, auto policies)
- Support year-end review engagements and auditor inquiries
- Produce accurate monthly financial statements (typically by the 20th)
- Utilize Sage 50 and Excel for day-to-day accounting operations
- Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks, cleanup, and process improvements as needed
- Help streamline and rebuild existing processes where required
What We’re Looking ForMust-Have Skills & Experience
- Accounting diploma or equivalent (CPA in progress is an asset)
- Sage 50 experience is required
- 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience working with multiple companies / multiple GLs
- Strong Excel skills
Nice to Have
- Property management or real estate development accounting experience
- Familiarity with online banking platforms
