Are you a people-focused HR professional with a passion for supporting diverse teams and delivering practical, hands-on HR solutions? We’re hiring a Human Resources Consultant to join a collaborative team providing full-scope HR services in a fast-paced, client-focused, public sector environment.

This position is fully in office located downtown Edmonton.

About the Opportunity:
This is a true generalist role, where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with managers and employees, providing expert advice and practical support across the full spectrum of human resources, from recruitment to workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compensation, health & safety, and learning & development. You’ll be relied upon as a trusted advisor and problem-solver, helping leaders navigate people challenges, implement HR programs, and support a healthy, positive workplace culture.

What You’ll Do:
  • Partner with leaders to manage end-to-end recruitment, from job design to interviews and offers.
  • Provide coaching and advice on employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Support organizational planning, workforce design, and restructuring initiatives.
  • Develop job profiles, analyze roles, and provide recommendations on classification and compensation.
  • Assist in disability management, return-to-work coordination, and wellness initiatives.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions and coordinate employee development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the review and development of HR policies, procedures, and communications.
  • Lead or support HR projects that enhance operational effectiveness and employee experience.
What You Bring:
  • 4+ years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist or consulting capacity.
  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • CPHR designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation, best practices, and HR program delivery.
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information with sound judgment.
  • Highly organized, with strong problem-solving skills and an action-oriented mindset.
