Note: This is a hybrid role in the Edmonton area
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture, the Integration and Application Solutions Architect proactively leads and supports architecture activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of integration and application solutions. The role takes ownership of integration and application solution architecture to address business problems and maximize value for stakeholders. The architect designs technology-agnostic data integrations, automations, and application interfaces/contracts, and prepares required artifacts. They assist stakeholders in integration and automation processes and design architecture solutions across all application layers.The architect is responsible for conducting technology assessments, developing strategies and roadmaps for the integration and application domain, and creating reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support API and integration projects. The position works closely with enterprise architects, domain architects, external consultants, and product delivery teams to ensure solutions align with the organization’s architecture principles, policies, and standards.
Responsibilities and Activities:Solution Architecture:
- Facilitate and collaborate to deliver business outcomes.
- Translate business strategies into solution architecture.
- Lead the design and analysis of solutions across various applications and technologies.
- Define principles, guidelines, and standards to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
Documentation and Mentorship:
- Create and maintain technology standards documentation.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to support teams.
- Problem/Issue Resolution:
- Resolve application-related issues and maintain knowledge of application services.
Project Participation:
- Participate in assigned projects to deliver quality products and provide expertise.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Degree in Computer Science or a related technology-focused discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in implementing and managing integration solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture disciplines (business, application, data, cloud, and security).
- Expertise in integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Azure Integration Services.
- Proficiency in application development technologies and frameworks.
- Knowledge of various database technologies like MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Oracle.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (waterfall, agile, DevOps).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to propose and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
