The Construction Project Manager will oversee the execution of civil infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, underground utilities, and pump stations. The Construction Project Manager will oversee the execution of civil infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, underground utilities, and pump stations. Leadership Responsibilities:
- Promote the company's best interests.
- Conduct performance evaluations and set plans for direct reports.
- Maintain high morale among team members.
- Act as a coach and mentor to employees reporting to the Project Manager.
- Develop project plans in coordination with the owner, including cost plans and project schedules (estimate development, value engineering, and identifying cost-saving opportunities).
- Lead pre-construction activities to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Oversee the tendering and construction phases to ensure projects meet specifications, are completed on schedule, and stay within budget.
- Play a key role in project development activities to secure new projects.
- Develop and execute project strategies to meet performance, schedule, and profitability targets.
- Facilitate and incorporate actions from strategy sessions, project start-up meetings, engineering reviews, scheduling sessions, and constructability reviews.
- Direct pre-construction activities to add value for all stakeholders, including owners, designers, and trades.
- Assist the estimating team in preparing project estimates or cost plans, ensuring they meet the owner's needs, the consultant's design intent, and profitability targets.
- Plan resources to prioritize safety, quality, and profitability.
- Oversee tendering and sub-trade contract awards, including subcontract preparation and execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and trades.
- Participate in negotiating, preparing, and executing prime contracts while upholding company values like safety, sustainability, collaboration, and integrity.
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Track progress, manage variances, and provide accurate revenue forecasts. Mitigate potential cost overruns.
- Proactively resolve issues and adapt to changes.
- Ensure project health, safety, and environmental standards meet or exceed legal requirements and company policies.
- Participate in weekly resource schedule meetings and coordinate with the civil lead.
- Ensure zero lost-time accidents.
- Manage project administration, including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information, reviewing shop drawings, and document control.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to support cost-effective project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or relevant field experience.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of delivering civil infrastructure projects ranging from $50 to $100+ million.
- Expertise in improving project delivery services and value-added constructability processes.
- Experience in joint ventures during preconstruction and construction phases.
- Ability to ensure project completion, profitability, and client retention.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and influence.
- Experience managing teams in environments with frequent change.
- Strong delegation, recruitment, mentoring, and training skills.
- Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
