Our client, a public sector organization in Alberta is seeking 4 DevOps Consultants to join their team for a one year contract with potential to extend. This is a remote role with expected occasional meetings in Edmonton. As a DevOps Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes, and providing operational support to ensure minimal downtime during deployment and maintenance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to improve infrastructure efficiency and drive innovation in automation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure rapid, high-quality releases.
- Develop and implement automation strategies for deployment processes, focusing on limited downtime and high availability.
- Provide ongoing operational support, troubleshooting issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Advocate and implement DevOps best practices, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability across the pipeline and production environments.
- Partner with developers, QA, and IT operations to streamline workflows and enhance development velocity.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in a DevOps or infrastructure role, preferably in a consulting capacity.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, Travis CI, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing zero-downtime deployments for high-availability systems.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or other relevant languages).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, etc.).
- Ability to provide operational support for production systems and troubleshoot critical infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with security best practices in a cloud or hybrid environment.
