Aplin has partnered with an Edmonton headquartered private company in the search for a strong Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be a key financial business partner to the organization.

- Supervising accounting team, providing leadership and mentorship
- Overseeing the operational accounting activities and month-end close process
- Preparing/reviewing the financial statements for several legal entities
- Preparing the monthly reporting package focusing on meaningful analysis
- Quarterbacking the budgeting/forecasting process
- Assisting with risk management and regulatory compliance
- Preparing cash flow forecasting
- Developing/improving data analytical capabilities
- Liaising with lenders and providing reporting as required
- Assisting with new product development
- Other ad hoc projects as required
- Professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
- Public practice or large complex entity experience is considered an asset
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Business partner mindset - able to translate financial concepts with clarity to operational personnel
- Leadership ability - the desire to grow the skillsets of a team
