A leading and innovative building construction company has partnered with Aplin to recruit a Structural Engineer to join its growing operations in Squamish, BC.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to contribute to innovative building systems while working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
The Team This position is part of the Engineering, Product Development & Project Management Team, which connects customer needs with production capabilities.
The team includes engineers, project managers, Revit technicians, and CAD designers who work together to transform building design concepts into manufacturable, panelized systems. From refining designs and solving technical challenges to coordinating with production and installation teams, the group ensures projects move seamlessly from concept through completion.
Position Summary The Structural Engineer is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality structural designs for projects and products.
Working across all stages of the project lifecycle—from conceptual design and structural analysis through manufacturing and on-site assembly—the Structural Engineer will support the development of innovative building solutions and the continuous improvement of existing systems.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with sales, design, manufacturing, and installation teams, provide technical support throughout project delivery, and apply sound engineering judgment to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engineering standards, design tools, and technical specifications for current and future products to streamline project delivery.
- Communicate engineering concepts, designs, and technical requirements clearly with internal and external stakeholders from diverse technical backgrounds.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and develop practical, effective solutions.
- Review and support the preparation of drawings and project documentation required for fabrication, permitting, third-party review, and construction.
- Provide structural engineering services as the Structural Engineer of Record and coordinate with third-party engineering consultants.
- Prepare and review evaluation reports, presentations, construction documents, proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Support the manufacturing team with plant and process improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the sales and marketing teams throughout proposal, estimation, and contract processes, including product guidelines and specifications.
- Collaborate constructively with internal and external project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to products, processes, design, and project execution.
Education, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or eligible for registration through transfer from another Canadian jurisdiction.
- Minimum 7 years of structural building design experience.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. building codes and applicable material standards.
- Strong technical experience with steel, concrete, and wood construction; experience across multiple materials is an asset.
- Strong experience in structural connection design and detailing.
- Experience with prefabricated and/or panelized building systems is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
- Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts and structural designs through drawings, sketches, reports, instructions, calculations, models, and other appropriate methods.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or equivalent.
- Experience with Inventor, MathCAD, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other drafting and modelling software is considered an asset.
- Experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, or engineering consulting is highly preferred.
- Candidates must be currently located in Canada.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada for any employer without sponsorship.

Compensation & Work Arrangement
- Compensation: $110,000–$140,000 CAD annually, depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits.
- Work arrangement: Hybrid — 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based on performance and operational needs.
- Employment type: Full-time.
