About The Position
Reporting to senior members of the Business Law team, the Corporate Lawyer will advise businesses and their owners on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. The successful candidate will manage files independently while working collaboratively with other lawyers and legal professionals when required.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on day-to-day corporate and commercial matters
- Supporting business acquisitions, sales, reorganizations, incorporations, and other transactions
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements
- Drafting shareholder agreements, resolutions, corporate records, and other legal documentation
- Conducting legal research and providing practical, business-oriented legal advice
- Managing files, deadlines, and client communications from initial instruction through completion
- Working collaboratively with lawyers and legal professionals on client matters
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Business Law practice
The Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong background in corporate and commercial law
- Experience managing transactional matters with a high degree of independence
- Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
- Sound legal judgment and the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
- Experience with business acquisitions, reorganizations, shareholder agreements, or other transactional matters would be an asset
Compensation
- Salary: $100,000-$150,000
