Responsibilities
- Develop and expand a portfolio of broker relationships and clients
- Conduct comprehensive underwriting assessments for diverse commercial lines, including property, liability, and specialty areas
- Identify new market opportunities and create customized insurance solutions
- Collaborate with reinsurance partners and internal teams to optimize capacity
- Establish underwriting standards and contribute to product development
- Manage the entire process from business acquisition to policy issuance and ongoing account management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines
- Experience in MGA environments is an asset
- Proven track record in building and transferring a book of business through broker relationships
- Strong technical underwriting skills with a strategic business mindset
- Entrepreneurial attitude with experience in business development and sales
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small organization
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is preferred
