Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to join its growing Vancouver office. This is a unique opportunity to join a sophisticated national platform while working within a smaller, close-knit team where your contributions can have a meaningful impact. You will support senior lawyers on complex, high-stakes commercial litigation and appellate matters while working alongside an experienced senior Legal Assistant who will provide guidance, coaching, and support.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Legal Assistant support to senior lawyers and their litigation practices
- Support primarily commercial litigation defence and appellate matters
- Assist with complex matters including class action defence, product liability, shareholder disputes, privacy matters, and other high-stakes commercial disputes
- Prepare, format, and manage legal correspondence, pleadings, court documents, and other legal documentation
- Coordinate court filings, deadlines, examinations, hearings, and other litigation-related activities
- Manage calendars, scheduling, meetings, and other administrative requirements
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files in accordance with firm procedures
- Coordinate with lawyers, clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other external parties
- Work collaboratively with the firm’s senior Legal Assistant and broader national support team
- Provide general administrative and organizational support as required
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Legal Assistant experience in commercial litigation or general civil litigation
- Experience gained within a top-tier/national law firm or commercial litigation boutique preferred
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Paralegal Diploma
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, documentation, and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to responsibilities
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working collaboratively
- Receptive to direction, coaching, and mentorship
- Friendly, personable, and professional approach
- Genuine interest in a long-term opportunity within a growing office
- Candidates with approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience are ideally suited to the role; candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong aptitude and the ability to learn quickly
