We are hiring a Purchasing & Operations Assistant for our Burnaby client. This will be a contract opportunity with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent position. Starting with a focus on supporting Operations and gradually moving to also provide assistance to the Purchasing team, this is a great opportunity for someone with 2+ years of experience looking to expand their Purchasing and Ops experience.
About The Position
- Create and manage purchase orders, monitor open orders, and follow up with vendors on status, lead times, and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and support timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate inventory information and support inventory adjustments, cycle counts, item setup, and transfers.
- Prepare and review shipping and receiving documentation and coordinate shipments with couriers, carriers, and logistics providers.
- Monitor shipments, follow up on delays, and assist with customs or documentation issues as required.
- Prepare and distribute purchasing, inventory, and operational reports.
- Maintain accurate information across ERP, WMS, and internal tracking systems.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in orders, inventory, and documentation.
- Support warehouse, production, receiving, returns, and year-end inventory activities.
- Organize and maintain purchasing, inventory, and shipping documentation.
- Assist with vendor reviews, process improvements, and other operational projects.
- Provide general administrative and vacation coverage support across the operations team
The Requirements.
- Post-secondary education in administration, logistics, supply chain, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, operations, logistics, supply chain, or a related administrative role.
- Working knowledge of purchase orders, vendor coordination, inventory, and shipping processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Position is fully in office.
Compensation
- Annual salary range $55,000 – $60,000
