Our client, a highly respected General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a flagship project team supporting one of Canada’s most significant infrastructure developments.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a $1.5B landmark project at the Chalk River Nuclear Research Facility while working within a collaborative Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment alongside architects, engineers, and trade partners.
About the Project
- Large-scale project located approximately two hours from downtown Ottawa
- Estimated value of approximately $1.5 billion
- Currently entering a critical estimating phase after several years of planning and development
- Delivered using an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model
- Complex facility combining:
- Advanced laboratories
- Office space
- Fuel research facilities
- Nuclear hot cells
- Approximately two years remaining on the project, with opportunities to transition onto future major projects thereafter
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating activities throughout project planning and pre-construction phases
- Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and pricing strategies
- Collaborate closely with designers, consultants, and trade partners within an integrated project team
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify risks and opportunities
- Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization efforts
- Mentor and provide leadership to estimating team members
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of estimating experience within industrial, institutional, heavy commercial, or large-scale construction environments
- Strong experience working for a General Contractor
- Proven involvement in major projects valued at $1B+ or projects of similar scale and complexity
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to drive results within multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and industry-standard estimating software
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to attend occasional site visits
- Eligible to obtain Reliability Security Clearance
- Recent and verifiable residency and employment history strongly preferred
Note: Previous nuclear experience is not required.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary: $115,000 – $160,000
