Our client, a well-established public accounting firm, is looking to add a Senior Accountant or Manager, Indirect Tax to its Vancouver tax team.
This is a growth hire supporting the continued expansion of the firm’s GST/HST and indirect tax practice. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Partners and support a diverse client base across indirect tax and broader Canadian tax matters.
Salary: Approximately $70,000–$110,000, depending on experience and level
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review GST/HST and other indirect tax filings
- Support clients with indirect tax compliance and advisory matters
- Assist with CRA reviews, audits, and related tax matters
- Research Canadian indirect tax legislation and provide practical recommendations
- Support broader Canadian tax engagements as required
- Communicate directly with clients and assist with ongoing tax-related questions
- At the Manager level, review staff work and provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Work closely with Partners as the indirect tax practice continues to grow
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- 3+ years of public practice experience, ideally in Canada
- Hands-on experience with GST/HST or other indirect tax matters
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax compliance
- Experience working directly with clients
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Interest in developing a deeper specialization in indirect tax
Nice to Have
- Experience within an indirect tax or commodity tax group
- PST or other provincial sales tax experience
- Experience supporting CRA audits, reviews, objections, or voluntary disclosures
- Broader Canadian corporate income tax experience
- Experience reviewing staff work or leading engagements
