Join an established insurance company operating in Western Canada as an Underwriting Operations Analyst based in Edmonton. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of underwriting, technology, and transformation, helping ensure underwriting rules, product updates, and pricing changes are accurately built into core systems. You’ll lead implementations, improve processes, mentor junior analysts, and partner across teams to keep underwriting operations running smarter, faster, and cleaner across the enterprise.

Responsibilities
- Lead assigned underwriting operations projects through to implementation
- Test and validate complex underwriting rules, product updates, and pricing changes
- Drive process improvements and system efficiencies across underwriting workflows
- Act as a subject matter expert for underwriting systems and underwriting business logic
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior analysts
- Liaise between business and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple platforms
- Work across tools such as Guidewire centers, broker management systems, and third-party quoting solutions
- Develop and deliver training content for underwriting systems
- Collaborate with leadership on strategy, reporting, and implementation planning
- Support regulatory reporting preparation and completion as required
- Take on additional operational duties as needed
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, products, and pricing
- Technical aptitude with experience working in insurance systems (Guidewire or similar)
- Experience improving workflows, driving efficiencies, and partnering cross-functionally
- Ability to mentor and support junior analysts
- Relevant post-secondary education
- Personal Property and Farm experience preferred
- Guidewire experience
