Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for leading complex projects from concept through completion? Our client is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join their growing manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions for customers across North America.
What You’ll Do
As the Electrical Project Manager, you’ll serve as the technical lead throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer specifications to identify technical gaps, potential risks, and opportunities, while recommending approved alternatives or deviations where appropriate.
- Partner with the Sales team during the bidding process by providing technical expertise, evaluating supplier quotations, and identifying project risks.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams by providing technical direction aligned with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring designs meet all applicable codes, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion by setting priorities, coordinating virtual design reviews, tracking KPIs, assigning work, and communicating project status to stakeholders.
- Review and approve engineering changes while providing technical leadership throughout the design process.
- Coordinate customer approval drawings and ensure engineering deliverables remain aligned with project schedules and milestones.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve design challenges, support change requests, and identify alternate sourcing opportunities.
- Act as the primary liaison between Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support product standardization and design integration initiatives across Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Supply Chain.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and perform other related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, project management, or technical leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with engineering software and project management tools.
- A collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and the United States – 15%.
