About The Opportunity
The Senior Project Accountant will oversee the accounting for a portfolio of development projects. Working closely with leadership and project teams, you will take ownership of full-cycle project accounting, support financial reporting, contribute to process improvements, and provide guidance to accounting team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project accountant who enjoys a hands-on role, wants exposure to larger and more complex developments, and is looking to grow within a collaborative and stable organization.
About The Position
- Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and journal entries to support accurate month-end and year-end reporting.
- Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to address accounting and financial matters.
- Review the work of accounting team members, providing guidance and technical support where required.
- Assist with external audits and the preparation of tax and regulatory filings.
- Develop reports and perform financial analysis to support operational and business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Support the timely completion of month-end and year-end close activities.
- Contribute to special projects and other ad hoc accounting initiatives as required.
The Requirements
- Accounting degree or diploma.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation.
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Real estate development industry experience is preferred.
- Previous experience coaching and mentoring accounting team members.
- Experience with project accounting, WIP accounting, project cost tracking, and US GAAP and/or US tax.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
