Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their busy and collaborative litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of litigation experience, with exposure to commercial and estates litigation considered a strong asset. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence, court documents, and other litigation materials.
- Manage litigation files from opening through to closing, ensuring accuracy and organization throughout the file lifecycle.
- Coordinate and maintain lawyers’ calendars, including court dates, filing deadlines, discoveries, mediations, and client meetings.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical client files.
- Assist with court filings and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedures.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the litigation team as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in a law firm.
- Experience in commercial and/or estates litigation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
