Our client, a well-established organization in the telecommunications industry, is seeking an HR Assistant to join their team on a contract basis. This is a 3 month contract with potential for an extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to broaden their generalist experience while supporting a collaborative Human Resources team. Working closely with HR Business Partners, you will contribute to a variety of HR programs and employee lifecycle activities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00–$32.00 per hour
- 3-month contract with the potential for extension
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Hybrid work model (2–3 days per week in the office at the client’s GTA office)
Responsibilities
- Support HR Business Partners with the administration of HR programs, including performance reviews, employee engagement initiatives, leaves of absence, and immigration processes.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring a positive employee experience.
- Monitor the HR shared mailbox and respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and general HR processes, escalating issues as required.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR documentation is organized and compliant.
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including employee profile maintenance, training assignments, completion tracking, and reporting.
- Support health and safety initiatives by coordinating mandatory training, assisting Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC), tracking compliance requirements, and coordinating ergonomic assessments.
- Provide first-level guidance to employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining HR policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Help identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance the employee experience.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including town halls, training sessions, and company events.
- Prepare reports, presentation materials, and other documentation using Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Assist with HR administrative projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or similar HR support role.
- Working knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and HR systems.
- Experience with HRIS systems; ADP experience is considered an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
