Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor, Control and Close assigned Sonobuoy Development programs by process to ensure maximum value to our customers and our clients. Oversees optimal utilization of staff and resources to meet project goals, including:
  • Lead program teams in the execution of assigned efforts
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of each contract and delivery of a quality product.
  • Provide optimal communication between internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Create companywide engagement within the different functional organizations to deliver project goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of program goals within the defined cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Ensure the product developed and delivered is of the appropriate quality.
  • Leads a multidisciplinary team of contracts, purchasing, quality, finance, engineering, and manufacturing through an indirect reporting structure.
  • Obtain the needed support and resources to achieve execution.
  • Ensure optimal application of resources.
  • Execution by released process and procedures.
  • Advocate the best solution (project/product) for the customer and company.
  • Clear and concise communication of each assigned effort to internal and external customers.
  • Achieve sales and profit goals for individual efforts.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in the delivery of scope.
  • Develop proposals and bids in support of customer requests.
  • Work under your initiative.
  • Promote a safe work environment for project teams.
  • Guide team on the execution of project goals.
  • Monitor and control progress across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Regular communication of project status to internal management.
  • Support internal and external audits against company processes and procedures.
  • Perform relevant processes to achieve project goals.
  • Keep his/her manager informed of problems arising that impair the efficient completion of projects.
  • Conform and comply with current Health & Safety Regulations.
  • React to day to day-to-day issues associated with projects promptly.
  • Maintain appropriate project and program records.
  • Utilize best practices in the execution of job functions.
  • Understand financial performance and impacts of assigned projects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Undertake and complete additional tasks, as directed by his/her manager.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process and initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Basic professional degree with 10 years of experience in a project or program management position with responsibilities delivering project and program goals or Advanced professional degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Capable of leading small to large ($1M-$30M) development programs and small specialty production programs.
  • Experience in engineering development or product manufacturing environments.
  • Comprehensive/in-depth understanding of project management.
  • Manages large, high-level complexity projects with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Recognized as an internal project expert with broad experience in a project leadership role.
  • Takes consultative direction against annual goals.
  • Manages large complex tasks within projects.
  • Communicates within and outside the organization to influence practices and approaches.
  • Develops the project team members in support of project goals and organizational skill sets.
  • Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
