We are seeking a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to join a high-performing team based in Midtown Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional looking to take on a highly visible role with significant growth potential. The successful candidate will be viewed as a future leader within a large, well known organization.

This position is 4 days in the office in Midtown and 1 day working from home.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on GST/HST, QST, and provincial sales tax matters related to a large real estate portfolio and associated entities
  • Provide strategic tax advice on acquisitions, dispositions, leasing arrangements, developments, and other real estate transactions
  • Review and oversee indirect tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of GST/HST and QST returns
  • Analyze and apply tax elections and legislative provisions relevant to real estate transactions and business operations
  • Lead interactions with federal and provincial tax authorities, including audits, reviews, and information requests
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities while providing practical recommendations to stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and operational teams on tax-related matters and business initiatives
  • Review systems, controls, and processes to ensure indirect taxes are properly captured, reported, and remitted
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts to the business
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive indirect tax experience
  • Experience operating within a large and complex organization is required (10,000 + employees).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience supporting real estate sales tax matters
  • Strong working knowledge of GST/HST, QST, and Canadian indirect tax legislation
  • Experience advising on real estate transactions and related tax implications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
