About The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join a busy and growing estates practice with immediate access to internally generated work, including estate administration and probate matters. About The Position
The successful candidate will support and contribute to the firm’s established estates practice, with responsibilities including estate administration, probate matters, succession planning, trusts, and capacity-related matters. Depending on experience level, the role may also involve mentoring junior team members and delegating work within the practice group.
The lawyer will work closely with experienced practitioners within a highly collaborative team structure and will benefit from strong internal referral sources and existing client relationships. The position offers exposure to a broad range of wills and estates matters in a practice that prioritizes client relationships, professionalism, and long-term service to the Ottawa community.
The Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in wills & estates law, including estate administration and succession planning
- Strong drafting, organizational, and client management skills
- Experience with trusts, capacity matters, and probate applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to develop and foster strong client and community relationships
- Collaborative and collegial approach to practice
- Experience in disability planning, tax, estate litigation, or business law considered an asset
- Ability to speak and draft in French is considered a strong asset, though not mandatory
- Interest in long-term career growth and integration within the firm culture
Compensation
- Compensation: $100,000-$150,000
