Impact Recruitment is working with a well-established mid-sized public practice firm that is looking to add an Assurance Manager to their growing team. This is a strong opportunity for a designated CPA who enjoys working with privately-owned businesses and wants a mix of assurance, review, compilation, and advisory work.
This is a client-facing leadership role where you will work closely with Partners, Managers, and Associates while managing client files, reviewing work, mentoring staff, and acting as a day-to-day contact for clients.

Our client is a full-service accounting firm that works primarily with privately-owned businesses. They provide accounting and assurance, tax planning, advisory, M&A advisory, and estate/succession planning services.

The Role
The Assurance Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing review, compilation, and assurance engagements from planning through completion
- Reviewing financial statements and related corporate tax returns
- Managing budgets, timelines, file progress, and staff work
- Acting as the main day-to-day client contact
- Supporting clients with accounting, tax, and business-related questions
- Mentoring and supervising junior and intermediate team members
- Preparing CRA submissions where required
- Supporting firm growth and client relationship development as needed
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of public practice experience
- 1+ year at Manager level in public practice
- 2+ years of Canadian private company assurance experience
- Strong review and compilation experience
- Strong understanding of ASPE, ASNPO, and assurance standards
- Experience managing or mentoring staff
- Clear communication skills and a client-focused approach
Nice to Have
- Private company audit experience
- Exposure to Canadian taxation matters
- Experience working with owner-managed or small-to-mid-sized businesses
