Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise all aspects of civil utilities construction projects, including planning, organizing, directing, and supporting activities from start to finish.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish and maintain effective communication channels, both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with client requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures to ensure project success.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety among all project personnel.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business opportunities.
  • Oversee budget management, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams consisting of Superintendent and Project Manager, promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or 15 years of relevant experience in BC Civil Construction.
  • Proven experience in civil utility construction, with a minimum of 6 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices related to civil utilities projects including shoring and steel pipe.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
