Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to provide frontline help desk and technical support within a busy IT environment in Winnipeg. This role is responsible for managing IT service requests, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting end-user hardware and software needs in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.This is an immediate temporary role in Winnipeg with the potential to become a temporary-to-hire.
Responsibilities:
- Manage IT support tickets and provide help desk support
- Respond to and assist with IT service requests from end users
- Troubleshoot network, system, and technical issues across hardware and software environments
- Escalate complex issues as required to senior IT staff
- Support onboarding and offboarding of staff, including setup and removal of IT equipment and accounts
- Assist with deployment and configuration of hardware and software
- Perform other IT-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT Support Technician or Help Desk role
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 (web and desktop applications)
- Experience with Windows 11, Mac OS X, and iOS operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory and core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and WDS
- Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
- Experience with Windows Server 2016 or higher and Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere (6.5 or higher) and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Working knowledge of manageable switches, routers, and firewall configuration
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and prioritize effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Criminal record check required
- Child and adult abuse registry check required
