Our client is a growing real estate development organization with an active pipeline of residential and mixed-use projects across the Lower Mainland. With a collaborative, hands-on culture, the team works closely across development, construction, and finance to deliver high-quality projects.
This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to step into a position with real ownership and exposure across the full project lifecycle, while growing alongside the business as it continues to scale.
About the Role Our client is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial management of multiple development projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is looking to gain deeper exposure to project accounting, job costing, and development finance.
Working closely with project managers and leadership, you will play a key role in tracking project performance, supporting reporting, and ensuring financial accuracy across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of development projects
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly working papers
- Assist with project cost tracking, job costing, and budget vs. actual analysis
- Support construction draws, loan reporting, and cash flow tracking
- Work closely with project managers to monitor costs and project performance
- Assist in preparing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support year-end processes and audit requirements
- Maintain accurate project records including contracts, invoices, and supporting documentation
- Contribute to improving processes and reporting as the business grows
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate, construction, or a project-based environment
- Exposure to job costing, project accounting, or budgeting/forecasting
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles (ASPE knowledge an asset)
- CPA designation (in progress or completed) is an asset but not required
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 (open to higher for exceptional candidates)

- Fully in-office (with occasional site visits)
