We are hiring an experienced Sourcing Specialist to support a busy procurement team. This is a 12-month contract with an immediate start downtown Calgary, focused on helping clear a backlog of contract renewals and supporting day-to-day procurement activities across operations.
This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, navigate complex processes, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
The successful candidate must have experience in Oil and Gas operations (not materials expediting or construction).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead sourcing activities including RFPs, evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution
- Support day-to-day procurement operations across production and operations teams
- Manage a backlog of contract renewals and refreshes
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver sourcing solutions
- Navigate structured approval processes and stage-gate workflows
- Monitor market conditions and support cost-effective sourcing strategies
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of sourcing/procurement experience within Oil & Gas operations
- Strong experience supporting production, facilities, or operational business units
- Proven ability to work in complex, process-driven environments with multiple approvals
- Comfortable balancing urgency and competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with SAP or similar systems (Ariba experience is a strong asset)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
