Based in Vancouver, our client is an established developer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. They are currently looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA with 5+ years of relevant experience.
About the client
Reporting to the Director, the accounting manager will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Review partnership, shareholder agreements and ownership structures to determine the appropriate accounting treatment (consolidation, equity, or cost method).
- Prepare intercompany eliminations, including interest, construction costs, and fees.
- Prepare financial statement notes and maintain consolidated financial information.
- Take ownership of annual consolidated financial statements.
- Calculate non-controlling interests and prepare and review monthly accounting entries and transactions.
- Prepare and review month-end and year-end financial statements and working papers in accordance with ASPE.
- Prepare tax filings (T2, T5018, T5013, and elections) and manage deadlines.
- Support and complete month-end close processes.
- Maintain and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance
- Assist with year-end audits and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Mentor junior staff and support ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
- Designated CPA
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience
- Consolidation experience is required
- Real estate experience is an asset
- Familiarity with Canadian and/or U.S. tax is an advantage
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $100,000 to $130,000
