Aplin has partnered with one of our leading clients to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist.
As an Intermediate and/or Senior Electrical Engineering Technologist, you will contribute to impactful, high-profile projects supporting work across Canada. In this role, you will play an important part in major defense initiatives, helping ensure naval systems are reliable, effective, and mission-ready. Responsibilities
- Develop technical studies, electrical drawings, and system specifications for naval and commercial vessels.
- Select and integrate equipment across a range of electrical systems.
- Perform analyses of power and communication systems, including voltage drop and short-circuit current calculations.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports to support engineering recommendations and decision-making.
- Integrate engineering changes into existing ship designs while ensuring regulatory compliance and system integrity.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex systems integration projects.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design or integration projects.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for technical drawing and modeling.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in naval vessel design or marine defense projects is considered a strong asset.
