Located downtown, they are seeking a Corporate Commercial Legal Assistant – a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful client work, build lasting relationships, and grow a long-term career in a trusted, collegial environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Support two corporate and commercial lawyers with document preparation, filing, and correspondence
- Provide full scope legal administrative support such as document preparation, drafting letters, client correspondence, reporting materials preparation, and billing
- Perform complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents
- Complete basic due diligence registry searches (Corporate Registry, Personal Property Registry, Land Titles, etc.)
- Document management duties, including filing and diary system
- Building a positive rapport with staff, lawyers and clients
- Follow instructions and be able to thrive in a professional team environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, ideally in corporate/commercial law
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Key Qualifications:
- A paralegal diploma or legal assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a fast paced corporate/commercial legal assistant role
- APPRES certification
- Experience with conveyancing software would be an asset
- Has a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A positive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative
