We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Construction Coordinator to support a large industrial project in the Edmonton area. This role will work closely with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to coordinate E&I installation, ensure safe execution, and support the successful delivery of a major capital project.
This is a 1 year contract starting early April and is an on site based opportunity for someone with strong field experience who enjoys working on complex industrial projects and collaborating with contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate day-to-day E&I construction activities across active project work areas
- Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to support safe and efficient execution
- Monitor installation progress and ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Support construction sequencing, work planning, and issue resolution on site
- Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities
- Assist with punch lists, deficiency tracking, and system turnover to operations
- Provide regular updates to project leadership on field progress and potential risks
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of Electrical & Instrumentation experience in industrial construction environments
- Progressive field background such as Journeyman Electrician or Instrument Technician, Foreman, Lead Hand, or Construction Coordinator
- Experience supporting large industrial or energy projects
- Strong knowledge of E&I systems including:
- Electrical power distribution (LV, MV, HV)
- Instrumentation and controls
- DCS / SIS systems including loop checks and testing
- Substations, EHT, and temporary power systems
- Shutdowns, turnarounds, or commissioning activities
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and work groups on active construction sites
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field coordination
