About the Role
- Title: Senior Technical Engineer (Design Engineering)
- Location: Pickering, Ontario – Hybrid (2 days remote)
- Duration: 9 months
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Contract Type: Open to T4 Employees or Independent Contractors with Aplin
- $65 to $70 per hour.
- Lead or support engineering design changes, modifications, and upgrades within OPG ECC process
- Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation
- Conduct field walkdowns, technical assessments, and support problem resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Vendors
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews
- Ensure all work aligns with safety, quality, and OPG standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
- Licensed P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible for PEO registration
- OPG Design Engineer qualification required
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with OPG ECC process and engineering standards
- Proficient with relevant tools (AutoCAD, AssetSuite, calculation tools) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with OPG engineering standards, regulatory codes, and procedures is an asset.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, AssetSuite, engineering calculation tools).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
