Our client in Downtown Toronto, ON a leader in their field, is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, International Taxation to join their corporate tax team. This is a high-impact role overseeing complex international tax planning, cross-border structuring, and foreign affiliate compliance for a large global organization. Permanent Opportunity.

Responsibilities
- Lead international tax projects, including structuring cross-border transactions such as acquisitions, financing, and reorganizations.
- Develop detailed structuring plans; identify, assess, and resolve related tax issues.
- Collaborate with finance, treasury, legal, and tax teams across multiple jurisdictions.
- Stay current on Canadian and international tax legislation and assess impacts for the organization.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external advisors on complex tax matters.
- Oversee Canadian tax compliance for a large group of foreign affiliates, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Manage Canadian tax analysis involving surplus, ACB, excluded property, and related areas.
- Lead and manage tax authority audits.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a strong learning and development environment.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of tax experience in public accounting, a legal firm, or similar industry role.
- Strong background in international taxation; experience in financial services is an asset.
- University degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
- Completion of CPA designation, CPA In-Depth Tax Program (Parts I–III), or Master of Taxation.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex assignments.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for diverse stakeholders.
