The firm handles a high volume of personal tax returns and supports a loyal base of individual and small business clients. About the Opportunity
As a Tax Preparer, you’ll focus primarily on preparing T1 personal tax returns while handling light bookkeeping and occasional support with simple T2 corporate files. You will work directly with walk-in and scheduled clients, manage your own files, and ensure accurate, efficient completion of each return. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a busy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file T1 personal tax returns
- Communicate directly with clients to collect information and clarify tax-related questions
- Maintain accurate working papers, schedules, and file documentation
- Support basic bookkeeping tasks when required
- Assist with simple T2 corporate tax files
- Ensure all work complies with CRA standards and internal procedures
The Requirements
- 3+ years of T1 personal tax preparation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files
- High accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Basic bookkeeping experience
- Simple T2 corporate tax experience
- Public practice experience is an asset
- Familiarity with common tax software
Compensation & Perks
- Salary equivalent: $60,000 – $80,000
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Location: 100% in-office, Downtown Vancouver
