We’re seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator to join a collaborative, people-focused organization in Edmonton. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing generalist duties with hands-on payroll administration.

The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, a proactive and approachable demeanor, and a genuine interest in supporting employees while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. This is a 1–2 month full-time assignment with the potential to extend.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll for approximately 75 salaried employees using Sage 300.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system (Criterion and Avanti), ensuring data accuracy.
  • Support HR functions including benefits administration, RRSP inquiries, timesheet adjustments, and general employee relations.
  • Provide front-line HR support by responding to employee questions and escalating issues when needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director and Talent Acquisition Coordinator to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with process improvements and help ensure a seamless transition as new HR systems are implemented.
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience with a solid foundation in payroll administration.
  • Proficiency with Sage 300 or similar payroll software; exposure to HRIS systems (Criterion or Avanti) an asset.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and benefits administration.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with employees across departments.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and contribute to a supportive team environment.
