Our client, a growing mid-sized law firm in downtown Winnipeg, is currently recruiting a Paralegal for the family law department of the firm. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced legal assistant looking for career growth.

- Generating and managing all docket files including creating and filing petitions, preparing affidavits and orders, and diarizing expiring orders
- Requesting documentation from government agencies
- Formatting and distributing all long-form particulars to opposing legal counsel on a timely basis
- Maintaining and updating the master list of pending docket files, intake hearings, pre-trials, and trials
- Liaising with social workers and filing briefs in Court
- Communicating with trial coordinators and opposing counsel
- Preparing files for trial and contacting witnesses
- Preparing monthly accounts with hourly billings
- A minimum of 5 years of family law experience
- Related post-secondary education
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- An eye for detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with MS Office
