Aplin has partnered with a leading Alberta-based engineering consulting firm to hire a Civil Engineer (P.Eng.) & Project Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, forcemains, pump stations, lagoons, and site grading for both municipal and private clients.
This role offers the opportunity to manage multidisciplinary projects from design through construction, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Plan and design civil infrastructure such as water and wastewater systems, site grading, and utility servicing.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with drafting teams and other disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
Project Management
- Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Monitor progress, prepare reports, and ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.
- Manage client communications, proposals, and contracts.
Construction Support
- Oversee tendering, review shop drawings, and manage contractor inquiries (RFIs).
- Conduct field inspections and prepare progress reports.
- Support commissioning and ensure work meets quality standards.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Guide junior engineers and technologists.
- Promote best practices and quality assurance within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Civil-Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of consulting engineering experience.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater design, site servicing, and grading.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Alberta.
