One of the largest insurers in North America are looking to add an experienced commercial underwriter to join their sports and recreation division. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced underwriter with strong exposure to specialty and casualty products to contribute in a senior capacity and servicing and grow a book of business.

Responsibilities
- Support the growth and profitability of the sports & recreation portfolio through effective marketing, analysis, sales, service, and underwriting activities
- Underwrite and manage a book of business by assessing risks, negotiating coverage, and ensuring pricing aligns with company guidelines and authority levels
- Review and process policy changes to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and company policies
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while contributing to the development of marketing strategies and product enhancements
- Collaborate with underwriters across product lines to leverage multi-line opportunities and strengthen client relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with broker partners through consistent communication, client meetings, and industry event participation
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members on underwriting practices, marketing strategies, and client service approaches
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform business decisions and maintain a competitive edge
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting (mid-large accounts)
- Experience with sports/recreation/entertainment insurance is an asset
- Deep expertise in policy wordings, forms, and coverage interpretation
- Exceptional relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to develop broker partnerships and generate new business
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong administrative, presentation, and communication skills
- Results-driven professional with strong business acumen, able to work independently and represent the company confidently in external settings
