About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Property Accountant to join the team. This role is well-suited for someone early in their career who is looking to deepen their experience in real estate accounting while being exposed to a broad scope of responsibilities. Reporting to senior accounting leadership, you will support the portfolio by managing daily accounting functions, assisting with budgeting and CAM reconciliations, and ensuring accurate tenant and lease records within Yardi.
Job Responsibilities
- Handle AP/AR functions including recording deposits, coding invoices, and processing payments
- Complete CAM reconciliations: upload charges, send statements to tenants, and respond to inquiries
- Calculate tenant pre-billed charges based on operating expense budgets provided by Asset Managers
- Update pre-billed charges in Yardi and generate updated rent schedules
- Set up new leases, renewals, and assignments in Yardi
- Reconcile tenant ledgers and generate statements, including adjustments per property tax consultant requirements
- Support real estate managers and tenants with ad-hoc requests and reporting needs
Ideal Candidate
- 1–2 years of solid AP and AR experience, ideally within a real estate company (residential rental/strata experience considered)
- Yardi experience an asset
- Exposure to CAM reconciliations and budgeting preferred but not required
- Strong Excel skills (vlookup, sumif/sumifs, sumproduct)
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A problem-solver who takes initiative and ownership of their portfolio
Compensation
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000 (higher depending on experience)
- Bonus: Ad-hoc bonus opportunities
