About the Opportunity
Great opportunity to work on a multi tower high rise project in Metro Vancouver working with a well established, respected company. You will be reporting into a general superintendent and will have field support from assistant superintendents, foremen, CSOs and structural and finishing superintendents.
About the Position
As Site Superintendent, your duties will be set out below:
Project Strategy & Scheduling
- Take full ownership of the project schedule, including look-ahead planning, trade coordination, and progress tracking.
- Resolve scheduling bottlenecks proactively to maintain momentum and avoid costly delays.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Preconstruction teams to align scope, budget, and labor projections.
- Integrate digital tools (VDC models, sequencing maps, earned value analysis) into on-site execution plans.
- Translate high-level strategy into day-to-day site performance and long-term project goals.
Field Execution & Operational Oversight
- Lead site-level execution across large or concurrent projects with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
- Ensure field activities meet technical specifications, safety standards, and productivity benchmarks.
- Set the tone onsite by driving pace, aligning teams, and resolving execution challenges early.
- Oversee scopes, trade readiness, daily targets, and sequencing with a clear focus on outcomes.
- Keep all site activities running smoothly through proactive coordination and decisive leadership.
Leadership & Team Development
- Coach and support Site Superintendents, Assistants, and field staff to foster leadership growth and performance.
- Create a collaborative, accountable work culture that prioritizes excellence and initiative.
- Promote continuous learning through feedback loops, lessons learned, and innovation sharing.
- Lead knowledge-transfer efforts across teams to elevate collective capability and execution.
Safety Culture & Compliance
- Champion a proactive safety culture through daily standups, site walks, and huddles.
- Lead investigations and implement forward-thinking improvements to eliminate repeat incidents.
- Participate in high-level safety discussions and shape policy updates from a field perspective.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Build and maintain trust with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Translate technical challenges into clear updates and solutions for developers and PMs.
- Lead challenging conversations with professionalism and transparency.
- Anticipate partner concerns and offer strategic, site-informed responses.
Quality Management
- Enforce a proactive quality control process with mockups, early inspections, and coordination.
- Ensure workmanship meets or exceeds regulatory and design expectations.
- Identify potential deficiencies early and lead timely resolution to protect schedule and cost.
- Maintain clear QA/QC documentation and oversee punch list and close-out activities.
Cost Awareness & Field-Level Financial Management
- Understand budget drivers and key scopes to support cost-conscious decision-making onsite.
- Flag early indicators of potential cost overruns, such as inefficiencies or misalignment of scope.
- Prevent unauthorized scope changes by enforcing clear trade accountability.
- Support change order review, field instruction tracking, and extra work validation in collaboration with PMs.
- Optimize the use of equipment, labor, and materials to reduce waste and unnecessary spending.
Requirements
- At least 3 full cycle high rise projects.
- 10 + years as a superintendent.
- Proficient using Autodesk, Bluebeam and MS Project.
- Diploma in areas such as construction management, engineering, architecture or related a strong asset.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of formwork systems, vertical logistics, MEP sequencing, envelope, QA/QC and finishing workflows.
- Exceptional communication and strategic thinking.
- High emotional intelligence and adaptability.
- Known for building trade trust and commanding field respect.
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.

- $180K – $210K
